The Community Kitchen Project, implemented by Productive Ideas Development Organization (PIDO) with support from UNDP, aims to address food insecurity and improve access to nutritious meals for vulnerable households in Andar and Qarabagh districts of Ghazni province.
The project provides daily cooked meals to the most at-risk families, including female-headed households, child-headed households, families with persons with disabilities, pregnant and lactating women, and unemployed households. Community kitchens are operated in close coordination with local authorities and community representatives to ensure transparency, dignity, and effective service delivery.
Beyond immediate food assistance, the project strengthens community engagement, promotes local ownership, and supports vulnerable communities during periods of economic hardship. All services are provided free of charge and implemented in line with humanitarian principles, accountability standards, and protection commitments.
